Analysis at Bottling

Flavor Profile

Traditionally made Rosé produced from Pinot Noir juice that was pressed off after a period of light contact and fermented in barrel and tank. Our 2016 vintage boasts floral notes and intense sweet red berry aromas on the nose, while offering a dry palate that’s creamy in texture with good acidity. With hints of fresh-cut watermelon and pink grapefruit, this wine is medium bodied with a considerable finish.

Sauvignon Blanc:
Pair Mt. Beautiful Sauvignon Blanc with shellfish, chicken dishes and especially a good attitude.
Pinot Gris
Our Pinot Gris is an invitation to experience the unexpected. Aromatically the wine is floral featuring scents of jasmine and lilac.  On the palate it is full bodied with luscious ripe pear and cox's apple flavors backed by a sensuous texture and a crisp clean green apple like finish. The incredible richness in flavor is achieved by meticulously hand-tending and hand-harvesting the vines.
With aromatics of ripe apple, stone fruits and nectarines, our Chardonnay has a creamy texture that makes it easy to drink. Medium bodied with underlying notes of buttered brioche and nectarine confit, it finishes clean and crisp with a loverly persistent flint-like minerality.
The Riesling is our baby, in the sense that it was the first wine we produced and launched to the public. It is a purely textural adventure, ripe with off-dry flavours of honeysuckle, pink grapefruit and sweet almond blossom. The citrus notes meld together with crisp, minerality and a complex ripe apple character. It finishes with a beautiful, lingering acidity. This wine is made by blending together two distinct blocks of Riesling from the vineyard.
Pinot Noir
Anyway you look at it, our Pinot Noir is the pinnacle of what we at Mt. Beautiful are all about. Subtlety is the secret inside this wine. It begins with sophisticated fragrances of black cherries and violets while showcasing an elegantly expressive palate of ripe bramble fruit and subtle tannins. As the personal favorite of our owner David Teece, it’s incredibly important for our Pinot Noir to showcase the best aspects of the varietal, therefore it is grown in the highest elevation in the vineyard.
